CAMERA REPAIR IN ORANGE, CA
Camera Tech works on both film and digital cameras, along with lenses and other photographic equipment.
Some repairs are fairly straightforward. Others take a little more time at the bench to figure out. Mike looks at each camera or lens individually before recommending what should be done.
Below are some of the services we most commonly provide. If you don't see your exact problem listed, that doesn't necessarily mean we can't help — bring it in and let Mike take a look.

From DSLRs and mirrorless cameras to point-and-shoot and compact models, digital cameras can develop power issues, error messages, display problems, sensor contamination, or unresponsive controls. Camera Tech evaluates the equipment in person to determine what is causing the problem and what repair may be needed.
Older film cameras can keep working for decades, but age, wear, and years of sitting unused eventually take a toll. Camera Tech services many 35mm, medium-format, large-format, and mechanical film cameras with shutter problems, film-advance issues, worn parts, or general age-related concerns.
A lens that feels stiff, will not focus correctly, has a sticking aperture, or shows haze or fungus may still have plenty of life left. Camera Tech services many manual-focus and autofocus lenses, including prime and zoom lenses, with cleaning, adjustment, and mechanical repair when possible.
Not every older camera is actually broken. Years of use or sitting untouched can leave mechanical parts stiff, slow, or inconsistent. A CLA cleans, lubricates, and adjusts those systems to help the camera operate more smoothly and reliably and keep older equipment working as it should.
Old or leaking batteries can damage more than just the contacts inside a camera. Corrosion may spread to wiring and nearby components, and the full extent is not always visible from the outside. Camera Tech evaluates the damage and determines what can safely be cleaned, repaired, or restored.
Shutter speeds and light meters can drift out of accuracy as cameras age, even when everything seems to work normally. Testing and calibration can identify timing or meter issues and help correct exposure problems caused by inaccurate readings or inconsistent shutter operation.
That's completely fine!
You don't need to know the name of the repair your camera needs before bringing it in. If something isn't working correctly — or you simply aren't sure whether an older camera is still usable — bring it by the shop and let Mike take a look.
Every camera and lens is evaluated before repair work is recommended.
Camera Tech has worked on equipment from many major camera and lens manufacturers over the years, including both current systems and older brands that may no longer be supported by the manufacturer.
Because individual models and parts availability vary, the best way to know what can be serviced is to check our Brands page or bring the equipment in for evaluation.
